Hi Reggie,
Thanks again for your detailed response to my last email. I respectfully remain
in disagreement with your analysis, some of your presumptions and "facts."
I won't take your time to nitpick. The bottom line is that the Urban League
has the community's best interest in mind at all times. Because this is a private
business transaction, it does not make it wrongful transaction. Further, the
negotiations started well before the study committee was convened. We reasonably
relied on the SLMA's ability to enter into this transaction. Hence, we are prepared
to proceed with our plans; which, irrespective of you and a relatively small
group of vocal others, is in the best interest of the Community and the Urban
League. This allows me to move to my last point. Your comments give the impression
that your view and others who are against the sale is the prevailing view. I
would argue that this is not necessarily the case. I have received countless
telephone calls and approaches from people from all walks of life, particularly
within this community supporting the Urban Leagues plans.Out numbering 2-1 of
those who were organized to contact me. We choose not to mobilize the proponents,
because we don't think it is a public issue.....yes, perhaps a public concern........
but there is a big difference!
Have a nice weekend,
Regards,
Henry
