Committee Reports

  1. Community Improvement:  Bill Malloy, Bob Triggs, Scott Hanson met with Cheryl Rivera regarding decorative lighting, signposts, street signs, gateway signage, traffic issues, textured crosswalks for traffic calming.  $8,000.00 has been allocated to these projects.
  2. Education:  Maureen Posner discussed the plan to reduce the 6th grade class size at Forest Park Middle and keep the school open with a modified form.  FPCA sought a City-wide reduction rate.  A motion to keep Forest Park open with a reduced size was made and passed at a School Committee sub-committee yet never discussed at the full School Committee meeting. Reimbursement from the State is slow on other projects, therefore slowing down the process toward the building of the new Forest Park Middle School.  The City needs to reduce the debt before bonding for the Middle Schools.  A forum meeting will discuss the issues of Forest Park Middle school in April.
