Dear Mr. Przybylowicz;

On August 4, 1998, I attended the meeting of the Springfield Historic Commission for the purpose of requesting the Commission deny approval of the exterior changes to the Friendly's at 65 Sumner Avenue. However, the sixty (60) time limit for action by the Commission had expired thereby granting approval of your request by default.

My requests would have been in behalf of the F.P.C.A. and would have included:

1.) Removal of the dormers and flower boxes with fake flowers..

2.) Removal of all excessive signage including the large illuminated signs on the side of the building.

3.) Restoration of the front sign to a rustic look as built in 1979, including removal of the credit card attachments.

4.) Replacement of the awnings with one solid color.

5.) Removal of the out of place lamp with replacement of the same style of lamp as there are presently in the parking lot.

Please note that the enclosed documents outline the discussions that took place when the restaurant was first built.

Please call me at my office to discuss this further. I ask that you have a meeting with a Committee from the F.P.C.A.

Sincerely,
William F. Malloy
